At College Quest, ACT and SAT prep is all we do!  Every day, we’re thinking about these tests.  We study the old tests; we study the latest trends of the newer tests.  We constantly update our courses to reflect the latest changes.  In fact, we could write the test ourselves!  WE EVEN WRITE OUR OWN TEST PREP MANUALS! No one knows more about the ACT and SAT than we do, and no one can teach you the secrets to a great score better than we can. The new "digital" SAT is one of the most beatable standardized tests we've seen in decades. We can demonstrate reading questions on the test that can be answered without even reading the text or the question itself!  There are math questions that a solid 4th grader could answer with our strategies!

Some companies act as  “middle men” for private tutors.  Sometimes you go to their facility.  Sometimes you meet the tutor at a coffee shop;  sometimes the tutor even comes to your home.  These companies offer little or no training; they often won’t let you interview the actual tutor you’ll be paying for; and they charge a fortune because they have to get their “cut”.  And most people who do private tutoring do it as a side job.  It’s not their passion. It’s a little extra money to put in their vacation fund.  It might seem the cheaper way to go, but at $75 an hour and up, it doesn't take long before you've spent over a thousand dollars.

Some test-prep companies will have the gaul to charge thousands of dollars and then require the student to do hundreds of hours of homework!  We’ve spent over 25 years studying these tests.  We’ve figured out the patterns and trends.  We know what math skills you need and what grammar rules are tested.  We know, for example, that the ACT tests colons in a way most high school kids have never seen.  We know the types of questions fiction passages tend to ask.  We know the common wrong answers used to trick you on a science passage.  We know the timing issues you’re bound to have and how to overcome them.

You could learn these patterns and trends yourself.  All you have to do is spend hundreds of hours doing old tests.  But we’re here to save you that time!  That’s what you’re paying for, not to have someone tell you to do hundreds of hours of practice while charging you thousands of dollars for the privilege.  If you really stop and think about it, it's an incredible waste of time and money.
